Make sure you do a manual wipe off with a soft cloth this includes the screen, keyboard, and if you thingk it might be internal wipe off your battery too. In addtion to rice.

I wiped off as much as I could and drained as much of the liquid as possible. We had it in rice for an hour and just tried to open it but failed orz we couldn't check the internal battery. I might just shove the laptop back in the rice and wait until my older brother comes home.

i wouldn't try tunring it on for a while. they suggest 24 hours in rice for phones so 48-72 should be a minimum

We turned it on a few hours ago today, and it seems to be working. The only thing that doesn't work at all is the keyboard/the touchpad. So I'm taking out some files just in case, but hopefully the laptop does keep working.

oh the rice observe liquid! its saved a many of phones that my brother has dropped in water or mud

your suppose to put dry uncooked rice in a container and then put your phone (or this case) laptop in for i think 24 hours? but i'm not 100% on the time! make sure its covered and hope it'll get all the water out! i've also heard cat litter works? but i can't say i've ever tried it myself

Will it work for 7up, though? 7up has sugar, so its different than water ; o; I'm putting rice in a bag/covering the bottom

honestly i'm not sure? i've heard mix things when it comes to soda or stuff with sugar i'd say its still worth a try if nothing else has works i think you need to leave it in the rice longer then if water was spilled on it

what i do know is that it needs to be totally powered down and if you can take the battery out and have it drying in rice separately it helps some! just try and cover it as much as you can with rice i do hope it works and helps at least some since its a new laptop QvQ

Yeah, I've read mixed stuff so far, too. ; o; Some people were saying to use rubbing alcohol or distilled water to clean the sticky parts, but I'm kind of scared to try that orz I am debating opening it up and putting the pieces in the rice, too, but im not sure that would work.

I took out the battery right away, and it didnt get wet so that's good q uq
I really hope it works, too. I have some files that I hadn't saved, and drawings i had just worked on orz Thank you for suggesting the rice! ; w;

this is just a suggestion i have no idea if it would work at all! but maybe you could use the distilled water to get the sticky stuff out then quickly put it in rice since rice works pretty well to try up water! i don't know how that would go though qwq and as for opening it up i would never know how to put it back together if you do though it might work?

oh good! at least it didn't get on the battery that is the worse i never think to back anything up which is horrible i know but i can imagine how bad that would be i really hope you can get it fixed and i'd love to know how things go if you think of it! i do hope it works i know my laptop is my child and i would like cry if it suddenly stopped working (with it not being all that old or anything) i wish you luck with yours!

Yeah. My dad tried to take my laptop apart, but with the type that it is, we couldn't even open it. My dad is closing it again. I think I'll have to wait until my older brother gets home from work, since he's the only one who actually knows hoe to fix computers/laptops.

Thank you. I'll post another status update whenever we can try and fix it/turn it back on.
